About Us

The Center of Contemporary Art (founded in 1997) is a non-profit organization mainly interested in promoting time-based art activities performance, video-art, experimental films, contemporary music etc. All donation and support are dedicated to these activities.
Among the activities that The Center for Contemporary Art initiated are the first three Biennials for Performance Art Blurrr 1 (1997), Blurrr 2 (1999) at the Tel Aviv Performing Arts Center and Blurrr 3 (2001) at Kibbutz Nahshon. The Fouth Biennial is going to take place between November the 20th and 23rd . The CCA runs series of video-art and experimental films screening at the Tel Aviv and Jerusalem Cinemateques, and an archive of international and Israeli video art, as well as editing and production facilities for artists. It’s support for artistic practice reflect also in the creation of the a fund that supports the creation of video works, and the production of Artattack, a TV program featuring young artist’s works. The Center became, within five years, the most influencing and leading factor in the field of time-based art activities in Israel.
The Center for Contemporary Art is supported by the Israeli Ministry of Culture, and The Tel Aviv Municipality with grants of other funds and individuals.
