About The Work

Relief from Territory was performed by Hunter out in the fields of Kibbutz Nachshon. It was a process that went on for two hours, twice a day - sunrise and sunset - during three of the festival's four days. Hunter delineated a quadrangular "territory" by means of flags. Each of these became a "station" at which the artist performed a fixed sequence of acts. These repetitive acts orchestrated memory and chance, thus generating different compositional realities.
