Led by artist and CCA Tel Aviv-Yafo Office Manager Guy Bernard Reichmann, alongside artists and Content Managers Mona Benyamin and Esraa Abed, “out-of-office” is a series of events to be presented in the Marc Schimmel Multipurpose Gallery. Focused on time-based practices such as video, dance, and performance, and in line with the multidisciplinary mission of the Center, “o-o-o” was conceived as a way to nurture the domestic scene.

As the title suggests, “Three Pandemic Pieces” were created during the pandemic by choreographer May Zarhy: Detail (2020) is a video work that deals with the inability to domesticate the presence of the body into 2D, as there is no substitute for live experience; Five Studies (2022) is a film that captures an encounter between a body, a camera, and a line, where each of those elements explores the movement of a dancer; Ausencia (2021) is a solo-performance, conceived for an intimate audience, relating to the body and its absence, to the possibility of touch, and the difficulty to fulfill such possibility.

Detail was conceived by May Zarhy in collaboration with Zohar Elazar; it is performed by Rotem Greenberg and Inbar Buchbinder; shot and edited by Zohar Elazar; sound design by Daniella Ljungsberg; color correction by Yoni Passy. It is supported by CCA Tel Aviv-Yafo, the Fund for Independent Artists, the Ministry of Culture and Sports, Intimadance Festival at Tmuna, and Re-search program for creative dancers

Five Studies was conceived, choreographed, edited, and performed by May Zarhy in collaboration with Tal Kantor and Stephane Leonard. The film was shot and edited by Stephane Leonard, who also did the sound design; animation and concept art by Tal Kantor; movement creation by Susanne Grau; lighting by Dennis Dieter Kopp; Chroma Keying by Jonatan Schwenk; text by Avital Barak. It is supported by the NPN - STEPPING OUT, and is funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media within the framework of the initiative NEUSTART KULTUR, Assistance Program for Dance.

Ausencia was conceived, choreographed and written by May Zarhy and performed by Ariel Gelbart with sound by Daniella Ljungsberg; the piece’s dancers-creators are Moran Muller and Ariel Gelbart. It is supported by CCA Tel Aviv-Yafo, the Fund for Independent Artists, and the Ministry of Culture and Sports.

The works will be presented in the order mentioned above. This presentation will be followed by a conversation between May Zarhy and Tal Kantor.
