Moving Cleverly: Dance and Movement Workshop for Children

In this workshop, children will be invited to experience the process of constructing a language for movement notation. What do we look at while watching a body in motion? What is a private versus a public language? What are “small” and “big” languages, and what makes a language practical? Children will practice movement exercises and learn how to write them in movement notation. They will also create their own movement and dance segments, which will be videotaped at the conclusion of the workshop. Ages 5-7 and 7-10. No previous background in sports or movement required.

The workshop will be held every second Saturday: 24.12, 7.1, 21.1, 4.2 and 18.2
