Saturday Lab: On the Domestic, Familiar and Strange in Art

Inspired by a collection of video art works from the CCA’s video, the April and May Saturday Lab children’s workshops focus on the concept of home in films and contemporary video artworks.

The workshop begins with a number of films in which the home and the familiar are upended in surprising ways and turn into something new and different. The films are followed by planning imaginary crazy houses and creating illustrations, paintings, and collages of them.
