the VOICES

May Zarhy & Michal Oppenheim: the VOICES May 7 at 9 pm | May 8 at 9 pm | May 10 at 9 pm | May 14 at 9 pm Sitting is limited. Purchase tickets HERE.

After four sold out performances at the CCA, the VOICES by May Zarhy & Michal Oppenheim returns.

The VOICES consists of an ensemble of female dancers and singers exploring, through togetherness, the possible connection between the medium of dance and that of music, between the materiality of movement and its comparison to voice. Through the creation of a “third object,” neither dance, nor music, but both at the same time, the VOICES is an alternative choir, which is not limited to singing, in which the realms of voice and body are choreographing themselves through vibration.

The VOICES was conceived by May Zarhy and created by Zarhy and Michal Oppenheim. Noam Ahdut, Yuli Kovbasnian, Alma Livne, Michal Oppenheim, Zohar Shafir are performing the piece; the light and costumes are designed respectively by Yoav Barel and Anat Martkovich.

The VOICES is supported by Mifal Hapais, The Arts Department, Culture Sector, the Tel Aviv Municipality and the Rabinovich Foundation for the Arts, Tel Aviv; Diver Festival; the Rabinovich Foundation for the Arts, Tel Aviv; The Center for Contemporary Art Tel Aviv; the residency at the FEST’FACTORY Artists’ Complex in Bat Yam; Residency at Kelim 2017-18; “Tights” residency; Sadnaot Habama, Tel Aviv.
