Please join Mona Benyamin, the Center’s Content Manager, for a tour of our current exhibition “Sharif Waked: Balagan.” During the tour, Benyamin will present the three main ideas behind the curatorial framework of the exhibition – the notion of “Appropriation” (in visual art), the etymology of the word translated “to carry across,” and the collision of word and image. Furthermore, the tour will emphasize the political power of Waked’s works, their connection to the Middle East and to its context, as well as their relation to the history of Palestinian art and culture.
