Initiated by artists and CCA Tel Aviv-Yafo Content Manager Muhammad Toukhy and Office Manager Guy Bernard Reichmann, “out-of-office” is a series of events presented in the Marc Schimmel Multipurpose Gallery. Focused on time-based practices such as video, dance, and performance, and in line with the multidisciplinary mission of the Center, “o-o-o” was conceived as a way to nurture the scene during the dramatic time of the pandemic and its aftermath. The fourth iteration of this program is a concert led by Musica Nova, with two premieres combining live instrumental and electronic music. The first work, titled BOROT, features Asher.Zax [Meira Asher and Eran Sachs] a duo of musicians and sound artists who makes use of extreme vocal and sound practices along with analog and digital electronics; their work deals with aspects of sound and text in connection with trauma, the body, the political bodies, pain and the fundamental levels of human existence. The work deals with colonialism in all its forms and its current part is dedicated to the water crisis in Gaza; it features text by Tal Nitzán and hosts Raimund Engelhardt (Pakhawaj / Tabla). The second work to be performed is Extroverted Internalization. Performed by Adi Snir, it is dedicated to the creation of spaces born of the subtleties heard from within musical instruments. The work utilizes a loudspeaker environment surrounding the audience to create a moving space, fed from the living interior of the instruments’ bodies. Extroverted Internalization seeks a change of perspective, giving voice to the inaudible.
