At the center of Ari Benjamin Meyers’s The Name of This Band Is The Art (Tel Aviv-Yafo), a project curated by Arnon Ben-Dror for CCA Tel Aviv-Yafo, stands a rock band named The Art. Its members – Din Bar, Rachel Levian, Rony Shefer and Gaya Wajsman – were selected through an open call initiated by Meyers with the Center and directed at art students and recent graduates. Every day during the entire duration of the project, from February 1 to March 2, they rehearsed in the Center’s Ground Floor Gallery in preparation for the band’s first and last concert on the closing night of the exhibition, after which the band will break-up.

Please join us for The Art’s one and only concert, which will be the culmination of the entire project and a celebration of four weeks of writing, composing, rehearsing and being together. A fanzine documenting the band’s process from day-one, designed by Alexandre Cruz “Sesper,” will be launched and sold at the concert.
