Please join us for a conversation between curator Dr. Maayan Sheleff, Dr. Thalia Hoffman, a visual artist and researcher, and filmmaker Ayala Berger on the occasion of her film, They All Died (2023). Screened at CCA from January 4 from 2:00 to 7:00pm and January 5 and 6 from 10:00am to 2:00pm as part of out-of-office.

They All Died is an experimental short film that blurs the lines between documentary and fiction, exploring the possibility of reconstructing memories. The film uses an unorthodox approach to shed light on the relationship between a mother and her only daughter. Following these premises, They All Died follows their attempt to reconstruct – through cinema – a small and yet profoundly meaningful memory stemming from their shared past.

Led by artists and CCA Tel Aviv-Yafo Office Manager Guy Bernard Reichmann and Content Manager Mona Benyamin, “out-of-office” is a series of events to be presented in the Marc Schimmel Multipurpose Gallery. Focused on time-based practices such as video, dance, and performance, and in line with the multidisciplinary mission of the Center, “o-o-o” was conceived as a way to nurture the domestic scene.
