Please join us for a Conversation between Arnon Ben-Dror, guest-curator of The Name of This Band Is The Art (Tel Aviv-Yafo) by Ari Benjamin Meyers – presented at CCA Tel Aviv-Yafo from February 1 to March 2 – and Wisam Gibran, composer, oud player, poet, and one of the contributors to the songbook that is part of the project. The conversation will explore the notion of hybridity, which is essential to Gibran’s worldview and practice, and music as a medium that enables “radical non-belonging.” Furthermore, Ben-Dror and Gibran will exchange thoughts about the meaning of writing during wartime, in connection to the psychoanalytic point of view explored by Gibran himself in his most recent essay.
