The exhibition Andy, Matthew and Ruti was conceived as a tribute to the CCA Tel Aviv-Yafo Video Archive, built up over the years of the Center’s activity. The works on view were created especially for the exhibition, through an unusual and collaborative process that unfolded over several months: weekly meetings between the artists and curators, conversations, shared viewings, and a continued reflection the archive’s materials.

In a conversation with the exhibiting artists — Dafna Amira, Adir Cohen, Laila Abd Elrazaq, Tamar Perry, and Liam Chambon — and curators Hila Cohen-Schneiderman and Tamar Margalit, we will discuss the works on view and the process that developed around the archive.

How does one approach an archive whose materials have accumulated over decades? How does one find focus among thousands of works? Through the affinities and shifts that emerged between the archival materials and the new works, we will reflect together on memory, time, and material, and on the possibility of rereading history through artistic practice in the present.

The talk will be held in Hebrew.

Duration: approximately 60 minutes.

Admission: Included in the exhibition fee.

At 1:00pm, immediately following the talk, Tamar Perry will present a musical performance in the exhibition.
