Adina Bar-On: Tearing Hymn

Four last shows of the Sight Specific work By the artist Adina Bar-On with the participation of Raz Gamma – Tearing Hymn. “Tearing Humn” deals  with bereavement and migration. Its minimalist setting represents emptiness and loss within local discourse. In this performance, the audience actively participates by being guided through a stimulation of displacement.

About the Artists

Adina Bar-On won the Education and Culture Ministry prize in 1991 together with her late partner Daniel Davis, and in 2001 she was awarded the America-Israel Cultural Foundation’s prize for her contribution to Israeli Art. That year, Idit Porat’s book, Adina Bar-On: Performance Artist, was published by Hakibbutz Hameuchad Press and the Herzelia Museum for Art. Raz Gomeh lives between Jerusalem, Haifa and Shanghai and works in installation, sculpture, video, drawing, and performance. His works have been shown in solo shows at Tempo Rubato gallery in Tel Aviv and Barbur gallery in Jerusalem.
